Eastern Bank Government Banking Sales Advisor III in Boston, Massachusetts

A Government Banking Sales Advisor III will be responsible for the sales, marketing, and relationship management of a book of existing municipal clients, as well as prospecting for new clients. Sales of traditional bank depository, checking, and cash management products to municipal prospects, managing a portfolio of existing clients, and organic growth with existing clients is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales and marketing of traditional depository, checking, and Cash Management services to municipal entities throughout a specified geographic territory. Expansion of the territory can be expected as the Bank grows. Managing and maintaining a portfolio of existing clients, some of which may be larger and more complex client portfolios within the department. Responsible for achieving predetermined sales and EXCEL goals each year, new relationships and new core deposits, along with growing the portfolio over previous year’s levels. Pricing and tailoring products to meet the client’s requirements. Making decisions on behalf of the clients with respect to product training, service levels, quality, and client satisfaction.

  • Generating proposals and responding to new business opportunities through the RFP process.

  • Team projects and assisting with analytical reports, special projects, bank conversions, and client product training. Making joint calls with other bank departments.

  • Sales call planning and reporting to include preparing territory plans, monthly sales reports, call reports, and annual relationship reviews.

  • Assist the Government Banking Director with interest rate recommendations to Eastern’s Deposit Pricing Committee for future submission to Eastern’s Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO), gathering competitive information on rates and product offerings to assist in the overall department strategy, and providing growth and operating insight for the department during the yearly budget process.

  • Mentor junior sales advisors, including joint calls when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • This position requires critical thinking and high-level analytical skills to independently identify client needs and develop solutions, as well as resolve client issues that may arise.

  • This person can evaluate circumstances and make autonomous decisions that take the Bank, Department, individual and client impacts into account, while mitigating risk for all.

  • The ability to make decisions independently is a significant requirement of this position. This individual will need to possess strong decision-making capabilities to properly service the client base and superior self-management skills to manage their time efficiently.

  • A Bachelor’s degree is desired or 10 plus years of government/municipal finance experience.

  • Experience with clients in the government/municipal sector is preferred .

  • Experience with government/municipal sales is preferred.
