Job Summary

The General Manager will oversee the daily operations and long-term strategy of a private luxury amenity club in the heart of Boston’s most iconic building in the Back Bay neighborhood. At the 200 Club, members can relax, network, and socialize in refined comfort, focusing on gathering, productivity and wellness. This leadership role oversees a sophisticated catering operation and a dynamic conference services team, requiring a best-in-class hospitality professional with proven experience managing high-end establishments, high end clientele, exceptional customer service skills, and a strong ability to balance operational efficiency, financial performance, and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

  • Manage and coordinate the seamless operation of the lounge, catering services, and conference team, ensuring a frictionless guest experience across all areas.

  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to maintain efficiency while delivering exceptional service quality.

  • Develop and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure consistency in service, food and beverage offerings, and overall operations.

Member Experience:

  • Maintain the highest standards of service to deliver one-of-a-kind experiences for members in the lounge, catered events, and conferences.

  • Regularly interact with members to gather feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction and retention.

  • Ensure the ambiance, presentation, and service levles align with the 200 Cluvblubs high-end re.

Team Management & Development:

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and retain a skilled and motivated team, including bartenders, catering staff, and conference coordinators with a focus on providing superior customer service.

  • Foster a collaborative and positive workplace culture, encouraging teamwork, professional development and creativity.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for growth and training.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for the lounge, catering, and conference operations, ensuring revenue and profitability goals are met.

  • Monitor financial performance, including cost control, labor management, and inventory tracking, and implement corrective measures as needed.

  • Work with Internal Communications and Marketing teams to develop strategies to boost utilization

Event Management:

  • Oversee the planning and execution of catering and conference events, ensuring all details align with client expectations and brand standards.

  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to guarantee the successful delivery of events.

  • Stay current with market trends and customer preferences to innovate and maintain a competitive edge.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, and licensing requirements.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment for both staff and guests.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a high-end hospitality setting (e.g., five star hotel, luxury lounges, upscale catering, or premium event venues).

  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to manage diverse teams and multiple operations simultaneously.

  • Strong understanding of P&L management, financial reporting, and business strategy.

  • Expertise in high-end food and beverage offerings, including knowledge of mixology and wine pairings.

  • Experience in event planning and client relationship management.

  • Proficiency in hospitality software systems (e.g., POS, scheduling, CRM).
