Sodexo Food Process Development Director in Boston, Massachusetts

Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a dynamic and innovative Food Process Development Director to lead our efforts in revolutionizing our food process through data-driven approaches, GenAI technologies, IoT technologies, advanced analytics, and standardized reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food services, process development, and a passion for leveraging technology to drive efficiency and quality in food production.

This is a remote role with the preferred candidate able to work Eastern Standard Time Zone hours

Through collaboration with key stakeholder groups such as Tech, Digital, and Data teams, as well as Innovation, Supply Management, CSR, R&D, Regional Food Teams, and the ERP Program, we aim to drive cross-functional synergy and innovation in our data-driven food process initiatives and projects. He/She is passionate about food and excited to lead transformative change and build strategic partnerships in food services, supporting differentiation and competitiveness for Sodexo.

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for leveraging data, GenAI technologies, and advanced analytics to optimize the food process, including connections to off-site production facilities and IoT-connected kitchen environments.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Tech, Digital & Data, R&D, Culinary, and external partners to standardize processes and drive innovation in the food process, automated menu design, and IoT-connected kitchens, ensuring seamless integration of data and insights across all platforms.

  • Lead the development and implementation of predictive models and algorithms to improve process efficiency, product quality, and resource utilization, integrating insights from supply management, consumer preference data, sustainable targets and other commercial data to inform automated menu design decisions.

  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data from various sources, including IoT sensors in the kitchen environment and off-site production facilities, to identify opportunities for process optimization and continuous improvement, ensuring data integrity and consistency across all integrated systems.

  • Establish and maintain robust reporting mechanisms to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process efficiency, product quality, and cost reduction across on-site and off-site production facilities.

  • Drive the adoption of digital tools and technologies, including automated menu design software and IoT-connected kitchen appliances, to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes, enhancing overall efficiency and productivity through seamless integrations.

  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to integrate IoT solutions into kitchen equipment and processes, ensuring seamless connectivity and data exchange between on-site and off-site production facilities, while maintaining data security and compliance standards.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in food processing, data analytics, GenAI, automated menu design, and IoT, leveraging this knowledge to drive innovation and efficiency within the organization and foster strategic partnerships for future integrations.

  • Implement data-driven strategies and GenAI technologies to optimize the food process, resulting in increased efficiency, reduced waste, and improved product quality.

  • Develop and integrate automated menu design and IoT-connected kitchen solutions to streamline operations, leading to enhanced productivity, real-time monitoring of processes, and proactive decision-making to address any issues swiftly.

  • Establish standardized processes and reporting mechanisms across on-site and off-site production facilities, facilitating consistency, transparency, and scalability, while enabling better alignment with regional food teams and the ERP Program.

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction through process optimization, resource utilization, and waste reduction initiatives, contributing to improved profitability and competitiveness in the market.

  • Drive a culture of innovation within the organization by staying abreast of industry trends, fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams, and leveraging emerging technologies to continuously enhance the food process and stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving food industry landscape.

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 5 years

Basic Functional Experience - 5 years of experience in product development or a related field
