The position’s primary goal is to ensure the day-to-day business and financial operations of the organization run effectively and efficiently. The position will liaise with internal counterparts, including Financial Reporting, Reimbursement, Business Planning, and other finance colleagues to ensure timely and accurate information exchanges of financial information.

The Finance Operations, Manager in Budget will be responsible to:

  • Support finance operations in order for the department to function efficiently and effectively

  • Develop monthly financial reports and accompanying narrative for executive leadership

  • Develop and maintain supporting documents for all financial reports, including the development and preparation of financial reporting models

  • Collect and analyze data to report on the organizational progress relative to our established targets

  • Provide strategic support and address management needs for financial information through routine or ad hoc financial reports and analysis

  • Prepare financial statements and reconciliations on a monthly basis as part of the financial close process

  • Monitor and maintain department recordkeeping systems, including highly sensitive and/or critical administrative and financial data. Oversee input of information into computer databases and spreadsheets, monitor data validity and compiles, distribute periodic reports and other information as needed. Evaluate, recommend and implement changes or upgrades in systems as appropriate

  • Support the annual operating budget process, including the development of key assumptions and trends

  • Support the capital budget process, including routine reconciliation and reporting

  • Participate in administrative and policy discussions, offering suggestions for the development of policy and administrative procedures to support better management of the department and or Hospital

  • Serve as a resource throughout the institution to help support efficient operations

To qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field and 7 Years of related experience with focus on reporting and analytics is required. Experience in a large academic medical center is preferred.

  • CPA is preferred

  • The ability to operate in a matrixed organizational structure and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is essential

  • Knowledge and familiarity with financial analysis, forecasting, principles, and methods

  • Strong written and oral presentation and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work with senior executives and outside constituents

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of MS Excel (specifically, advanced formulas, pivot tables, and charts

  • The skill to simplify budgeting and financial data using plain language

  • Fulltime remote position except CA
