RES Field Service Technician II Solar Traveler in Boston, Massachusetts

Summary:
The Field Service Technician II – will assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters.
Requirements:
Takes direction from senior site personnel.
Sets positive example for junior technicians.
Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.
Troubleshoots low voltage and medium voltage AC power systems.
Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
Uses hand tools effectively and appropriately.
Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Maintains inventory of spare parts and consumables.
Follows site safety plan and safe work practices.
Adheres to proper Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures.
Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
Interfaces with project subcontractors.
Represents RES in professional manner to project stakeholders.
Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.
Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
Presets, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
Safety:
Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.
Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
Qualifications:
High school/GED General Education required.
Associate degree Related Technical Degree preferred.
Certification OSHA 10/30 preferred.
Certification FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot preferred.
3+ years or more Related maintenance experiencerequired.
Basic knowledge of:
High voltage electrical power systems
Intermediate Knowledge
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Low voltage and medium voltage electrical power systems
Drawings
Circuit theory
OSHA regulations
Equipment operation (skid-steer, forklift, etc.)
Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation
Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera)
ANSI/NETA/MTS
SCADA systems
Advanced
Hand tools
Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from a major airport, preferably Denver, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta.

Domestic travel 76-100% required.
Valid Driver’s License required.
Anticipated base salary range: $28.85 - $34.12
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
