Job Description

Are you excited about designing outstanding digital experiences? Collaborating with business, product research and analytics to deliver customer centered solutions? Our growing Human Centered Design team is looking for a highly motivated, collaborative designer who is strategically driven and leans in to change.

We are seeking designers who have embraced Lean UX, Agile methodologies, and can speak convincingly about the value and challenges of human centered design. We expect you to possess and demonstrate strong design skills and a passion for pushing good to great. You will be championing the best interests of our customers and help support our business outcomes. You will conduct research, facilitate workshops, prototype, and test your designs, and plan for iterative design releases. We will want you to have an understanding and appreciation of usability concerns, best practices, and the intertwined nature of design and implementation.

You will play a key role in:

  • Collaborating with customers, business stakeholders, and engineering teams across multiple business units to discover new opportunities and explore customer needs

  • Developing a complete understanding of customer needs and wants, identifying product and business model opportunities, and keeping customers at the forefront of every decision

  • Collaborating with other design teams within the organization to establish a community, share knowledge, and cross-pollinate ideas

  • Embracing and employing both current and emerging UI best practices and digital standards in all design deliverables 

  • Working with operations, call center, and technology teams to ensure that digital experiences are feasible and able to be implemented

  • Communicating design specs to development teams to ensure that designs are built correctly and to the same standard of the design

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing forward thinking digital experiences

  • Storyboarding complex interactions

  • Prototyping workflows from beginning to end

  • Creating customer journey maps

  • Performing customer experience analytics

  • Communicating and articulating design rationales

  • Collaborating with the team and stakeholders to deliver great products

  • Adapting to an ever-changing environment and learning new skills to succeed

Desired qualifications for this position include:

  • At least 3-5 years of dedicated UX design experience designing complex solutions for digital environments.

  • Understanding of human-centered design methods and techniques

  • Ability to gracefully handle multiple projects in a time sensitive environment

  • Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create UX/UI designs for products

  • Familiar with atomic or component-based design and comfortable working within an established Design System

  • Knowledge of and experience in designing across multiple form factors, including but not limited to desktop, tablet, phone

  • Excellent visual design skills

  • Highly competent with some of or all the following tools: Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe AEM, Adobe Creative Cloud, Axure and/or similar (we work primarily in Figma)

  • Self-motivated, collaborative, organized

Nice to have:

  • Working understanding of how HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other front end technologies work with design

  • Business analyst experience or affinity

  • Management or mentorship experience

  • Experience designing in the insurance or healthcare industry

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Boston, Massachusetts

Salary range is expected to be between

$85,750.00 USD - $159,250.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
