World Congress Event Operations Intern (Spring 2020) Woburn, MA in Boston, Massachusetts

Internship Summary: Candidates for this position require the motivation, initiative and attention to detail and deadlines to provide high levels of customer service to our internal and external customers and ability to implement these requirements in a professional manner.


  • Coordinate and track speaker presentations, preparation of speaker kits.

  • Make speaker hotel reservations and communicating reservation numbers to each as directed by Sr. Events Operations Manager or other senior staff.

  • Assist as needed with the production of each conference? Program Guide

  • Complete speaker expense reimbursement forms and submit to accounting for payment.

  • Assemble speaker kits, sponsor kits.

  • Prepare speaker evaluation tabulations.

  • Prepare photocopies, of speaker evaluations as directed by Sr. Staff.

  • Convert Powerpoint presentations into PDF?s.

  • Coordinate outbound and return show management freight shipping and maintaining inventory of meeting supplies.

  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the VP, Event Operations.


  • Excellent communication and superior customer service skills.

  • Maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast paced environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access and Outlook applications.


  • Currently Enrolled in a Bachelor?s Program

  • Previous hospitality experience, a plus

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Not required, less than 10%

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Position is considered to be sedentary and no unusual physical requirements are necessary to perform daily tasks. Largely computer related work. Position duties may require incumbents to lift, carry heavy objects (up to 20 lbs.) on a non-routine or daily basis.

This is a for-credit internship. The amount of credits will depend upon school program.
