Job Profile Summary
This role focuses on activities related to the support services functions, such as dietary and food services, environmental services, general facilities, repair and maintenance, parking, sterilization and transportation to ensure all required support activities are completed in a timely manner and meet the organization's quality standards and expectations. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Transportation duties: Organizes the transportation for hospital shuttles and any travel needs hospital administration may need and provides support on the transportation of patients. A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. A role that supervises para-professional employees. Responsibilities that typically include: Setting day-to-day operational objectives for team, problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex, and ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.
Job Overview
This position oversees day to day operations within the Environmental Services department. This position is responsible for room inspections, coordinating floor care program, payroll, and coaching and counseling. This position will also be performing various other tasks to aide the other departments that make up Hospitality Services. Works cooperatively within department and other services to create a system of quality health care.
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Three (3) years of related experience in a hospital setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual.
Duties and Responsibilities : The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Conducts room inspections on a daily basis.
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication.
Follows IVR phone system when taking requests from SRC.
Coordinates floor and carpet care schedules and follows up with appropriate documentation.
Reviews are done in a timely manner.
Maintains composure and professionalism during difficult situations.
Demonstrates an appreciation of cost factors in routine performance of duties, Maximizes cost efficiency.
Coordinates furniture moves and meeting set-ups in a timely and accurate manner.
Inventory is kept current and communicated to manager when supplies are needed.
Ensures Payroll and work schedules are completed weekly and with accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
Standing, walking, bending, and stretching majority of shift.
Ability to push heavy loaded carts and lift between 30-60 lbs.
Occasional climbing of ladders.
Frequent exposure to dirt, dust, blood, body waste, and contaminated waste. Exposure to climate conditions when depositing trash in compactor.
Possibility of cuts and needle punctures.
Occasional exposure to hazards which may cause serious injury/illness (T.B., hepatitis, rodent bites). When working in non-patient areas, those hazards are minimal.
Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate prescription medications and computer keyboard.
