Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer to join our Remediation team in either of our offices in Chelmsford or Boston.

This position is expected to begin in October 2021 .

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

  • Performing specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathering and correlating basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures

  • Working on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests

  • Overseeing field service subcontractors and supervise ground investigation and remediation works.

  • collecting and evaluating soil and groundwater samples/data during assessment and remedial action activities at various sites.

  • Ensure that health and safety issues are addressed throughout the life of a project.

  • Position involves local travel to project sites to collect samples, oversee remediation construction contractors, gather information, and present results of study and design work.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Civil, or related field) or BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid US Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge in the practical application of engineering concepts, basic chemistry, working knowledge of MS Office Applications, and Autocad and or GIS proficiency a plus

  • Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work with the ability to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project

  • Possess strong logic skills

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable meeting with clients, colleagues, and sub-contractors alike.

  • Flexible with working hours and locations, frequent travel within 1 – 2 hour drive of a home office, and occasionally further.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills (in English); fluency in other languages is an advantage.

  • Strong quality and time management and ability to multi-task

  • Self-starter develops and delivers work under own initiative.

  • EIT is a plus
