Job Title: Enterprise Architect (Hybrid Cloud SDI)

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Trusted Advisor to clients with responsible for developing and driving the infrastructure roadmap for clients as their enterprise architect providing strategies including hybrid-cloud, standardization and modernization of legacy environments, transformation and datacenter migrations. Operational Excellence through optimization strategies and processes across all aspects of infrastructure.

  • Business Initiatives and return on investment: Understand the Client business objectives to provide Business solution(s) that improve efficiencies and reduce errors and overall business benefit with proper investment in the company and our own or 3rd party products and services.

  • Data Science: Have a deep understanding of the current and desired information workflow and process that the customer experiences to know how the product(s) and solution(s) being proposed will help the customer be more successful. Understand how to enhance current workflows.

  • Technology Architecture: Demonstrates what differentiates the underlying technology architecture cost/benefits of the product(s) and solution(s) in terms of scalability, availability, performance, flexibility, interoperability and security.

  • Partner with Track/Tower Architecture teams to implement corporate/enterprise infrastructure initiatives.

  • Analyze the risks, benefits and opportunities associated with architectural strategies align to Architecture Review Board, and champion a balanced approach with a focus on operational functionality.

  • Lead, and build consensus among infrastructure teams, in the design and development of infrastructure building blocks for simplicity, availability, performance, integrity, stability and scalability of global enterprise systems.

  • Develop and continuously improve Migration Methodologies.

  • Lead, guide, coach, and mentor colleagues and junior architects on design standards, implementation strategies, and effective methods.

  • Guide and lead in problem solving, root cause analysis during systems outages, and champion a methodological approach to resolving.

  • Engage with management, infrastructure peers, business and project collaborators to understand system requirements and advise collaborators on options, risks, business impacts and cost-benefits.

  • Communicate with collaborators at all levels to share architecture strategies and roadmaps.

  • Participate in the governance of projects or initiatives to close the gaps between current and target-state architectures.

  • Work with the infrastructure engineering teams to evolve and mature enterprise IT infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

  • Able to communicate effectively with Executives, business and technical leaders; proficient in communicating complex ideas.

  • Ability to get hands into systems for building or complex problem resolution.

  • Collaborate effectively with others; build rapport, gain support, and instill confidence.

  • Applied knowledge of networking, Load Balancing, and network security technologies (Cisco, F5, NetScaler).

  • Familiar with Device42 or equivalent experience or other assessment tools.

  • Applied working knowledge of Windows Servers all generations, including Active Directory.

  • Applied working knowledge of popular Unix/Linux.

  • Applied knowledge of server hardware and virtualization technologies (Cisco UCS, Dell EMC, HPE, VMware, vRealize suite and NSX, VxRail, Nutanix, etc.).

  • Applied knowledge of VDI and hyper converged architectures and SDI Software Defined Infrastructure.

  • Applied knowledge of cloud technologies of one or more Public Clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) including VMware Private Cloud and automation. Understanding of vSAN Private cloud, etc.).

  • Applied knowledge of high availability infrastructure designs and methodologies.

  • Applied knowledge of systems monitoring, performance optimization, and improving system performance.

  • Working knowledge of DevOps (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Jenkins).

  • Golden Gate or Data Guard architecture and configuration and trouble shooting.

  • RMAN Backup and Recovery Solutions.

Education and Certifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in IT to include lead and senior roles

  • 10 years Infrastructure Consulting experience

  • Current technical certifications preferred (VMware, NSX, Horizon, other relevant certifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, information systems, or related field with 7+ years of relevant work experience

Other Requirements/Skills:

  • Exceptional decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional personal time management, planning and organizational skills

  • Ability to travel up to 100%, possibly internationally

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until April 20, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $ 115,378 - $ 223,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
