Our Boston office is looking to add an Electrical Engineer to our multi-disciplinary team. At Arup, we use the latest design technologies and analytic methods to deliver projects which make a real impact. Sustainability, carbon reduction, and resilience are at the core of what we do. We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer who is looking to provide designs for a wide range of projects including labs, higher education, commercial, healthcare, and distributed energy systems.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design of a variety of medium to large-scale complex projects (healthcare, higher education, laboratories, energy, and infrastructure)

  • Collaborate with outstanding multi-disciplinary teams using our experience at the local, regional, and global levels

  • Have opportunities for advancement in a rapidly growing office

  • Undertake electrical systems design, predominantly for building projects, including power systems, lighting, fire alarm and other signal systems

  • Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls

  • Prepare and review drawings and specifications detailing the design

  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines and working in conjunction with project managers to help complete work youre doing

  • Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings

  • Presenting technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences

  • Understanding trends and standard methodologies

  • Participating in local Professional Associations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering

  • 2 or more years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings

  • The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills are required for our constantly evolving environment

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working

  • Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels

  • Experience with Revit MEP

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with design and analysis of renewable and distributed energy systems

  • EIT License

  • LEED accreditation

  • Experience with power system modeling using SKM
