Director of Marketing, Real Estate Investment Management
This role is integral to the ongoing development and management of marketing and communications initiatives to support Manulife Investment Management's private markets business with a focus on the global real estate investment management business.
Manulife Investment Management’s real estate investment team manages over 73 million square feet of real estate assets globally on behalf of our clients including Manulife’s general account. Our team is expanding its real estate capabilities to meet evolving market opportunities and build a strong and diverse global culture as an entrepreneurial investment manager.
The Director of Marketing is responsible for implementing sound project plans and strategies to enable the business to continue to expand its offerings to investors globally through the development and execution of comprehensive and integrated marketing programs. Strong project management and the ability to manage multiple collaborators is a requirement.
The role requires the ability to work with business leaders, product development and sales to extract and interpret content for sales materials, thought leadership and investor communications. Projects include a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to digital strategy including ownership of website content, branding and design, capabilities decks and investor pitches, speaking engagement support, and media relations support.
The Director of Marketing will have exposure across divisions and levels of the organization, and dealing with a wide-cross section of collaborators including internal clients, current and prospective external clients and senior executives.
Responsibilities:
Drive the marketing and communication strategy for the real estate investment management business;
Ensure timely execution and delivery of multiple marketing projects to internal clients; delivering above-expectation, on-time and on-budget;
Ensure effective and consistent articulation of brand and messaging consistency across various audiences, both public-facing and internal;
Work closely with the team to develop compelling responses to RFP opportunities and win new clients and business
Work closely with the team to develop and complete a comprehensive sustainability program;
Managing operational processes to facilitate marketing campaigns such as compliance and legal review, material creation and working with subject matter experts;
Strong design understanding with the ability to provide direction to Manulife's internal branding partner for the design and execution of marketing materials;
Strong copywriting and editing capabilities with a focus on customer-centric messaging;
Keep abreast of current trends and maintain expertise in evolving marketing platforms and resources to develop and maintain best in class solutions;

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education:
University or college degree in marketing, communications, public relations or journalism / media.
10+ years progressive work experience in a marketing function, or in a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the real estate investment management industry
Excellent communications skills with strong ability to create, compose and edit written materials that are impactful and compelling.
Results oriented with strong project management skills and proven ability to develop, recommend and implement marketing and communications plans and strategies to meet business objectives.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and build consensus effectively, and to collaborate with senior executives.
Proven ability to adapt in a dynamic, ever-changing work environment.
Hands-on and proactive with initiative to work with minimal supervision.
High level of creativity combined with strong business sense to deliver dynamic and effective messages and solutions.

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.
Primary Location
Boston, Massachusetts
Salary range is expected to be between
$111,900.00 USD - $201,420.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
