Boston University DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS, SCHOOL OF MUSIC, College of Fine Arts, School of Music in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The College of Fine Arts seeks a Director of Admissions for the School of Music. This position reports to the College of Fine Arts Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Enrollment, and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of on-campus admissions and recruitment for the School of Music, including:

  • Development and implementation of recruitment efforts

  • Planning, implementation and oversight of audition tours

  • Management of admissions events and promotional strategies

  • Oversight of all data systems relating to music admissions and auditions

  • Communication with applicants

  • Processing oversight for audition evaluations, graduate assistantship applications, and teacher studio assignments

The Director of Admissions, in collaboration with the Director of the School of Music, music faculty, College of Fine Arts Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Enrollment, and Boston University Office of Admissions, establishes and implements enrollment goals and merit and financial aid strategies. Collaboration with the Boston University Tanglewood Institute on recruitment, audition and advertising efforts is expected. The Director of Admissions supervises the Admissions Coordinator in the School of Music.

Required Skills

Master's degree and three to five years of relevant experience is required. Travel is also required.
