Boston University DIRECTOR, HUMAN RESOURCES, Questrom School of Business, Finance & Administration in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Director of Human Resources is a key member of the Questrom School of Businesss Finance & Administration Team. Working closely with Central HR and other central BU offices, the Director is responsible for managing all staff related human resource activities, including recruiting (with an emphasis on attracting a diverse applicant pool for all position vacancies), on-boarding, and implementing/promoting professional development programs and activities. The Director will work closely with the Associate Dean on performance evaluation and merit review processes for staff, as well as activities related to diversity & inclusion, and employee engagement. The individual formulates partnerships across the HR function to maximize collaboration with Central HR to deliver value-added service to employees that reflects the business objectives of the School. The qualified candidate will project fairness, a commitment to diversity & inclusion, empathy, and confidentiality to drive effectiveness in the organization, improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

Required Skills

Position Requirements:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in human resources. Higher education experience preferred

  • B.A. or B.S. degree

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, ability to handle confidential material appropriately, and proficiency with MS Office

  • Experience with SAP is a plus
