MassMutual Delivery Lead - Partner Management Technology in Boston, Massachusetts
This role will be responsible for the planning, budget and quality delivery of business outcomes in support of the Partner Management Technology organization. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills and has had proven success championing multiple SDLC and project management methodologies including the core concepts and practices of Agile and Waterfall. This individual is facile in all facets of project delivery methodologies including team organization, project risk assessment, implementation and reporting. This role is responsible to develop technology strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives to clearly understood business problems and identified benefits. This individual will be responsible for managing the demand/capacity for the team, working closely with the portfolio management team. This leader has demonstrated they can develop high performing project teams by setting a positive tone and leading by example. This person can perform the role of being a coach and a mentor as well as can provide career guidance for all team members and build domain expertise within the team. This leader will be able to collaborate within the Sales and Distribution Technology organization as well as across the broader Technology & Data and ETX teams. Strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to identify delivery efficiencies, technology improvement opportunities, cost efficiency opportunities and ways to improve support outcomes.
What your days and weeks will include.
Manage and lead a team of multidiscipline technical employees and contractors to delivery on strategic, operational and BAU efforts.
Coach, mentor and provide career guidance for all team members and build domain expertise within the oversight of cross enterprise team of >10 people.
Lead with a focus on continuous improvement concepts, as well as providing learning opportunities to all team members.
Educate team members in the application of appropriate problem-solving principals equipping team members with tools and behaviors in order to make sustainable improvements.
Primary point of accountability to business sponsors and other parties for execution of multiple large projects or medium to large programs that support complex enterprise or strategic corporate goals and where scope is subject to change, contains high complexity and high degree of risk, a large number of resources, and complex organizational change issues.
Lead development of metrics, measures and reporting to understand the overall health of the Partner Management Technology project portfolio.
Communicate and provide visibility to leadership and business partners regarding risk and mitigation strategies.
Recommend changes to drive expected results, mitigate risk, while balancing cost and benefits.
Develop and monitor leading Key Risk Indicators for managing project and program health.
Develop, manage, monitor and report on all project/program tasks, activities, expectations, controls and deliverables
Interact regularly with senior leaders and/or key customers to provide consultation, influence, resolve complex issues and provide insight into commitments, targets and progress
Proactively remove blocker/barriers enabling project team to complete objectives
Drive and influence decisions; effectively negotiate priorities and solutions
Drive lessons learned and knowledge retention for future use

Bachelor’s degree in Information technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business or related field or appropriate work experience
5+ years of overall experience with at least 3 years of IT leadership, business unit, or other functional leadership experience and may have significantly more.
Program/project management and/or MM Business system methodology, minimum 3 years related experience preferred
Identifiable track record of leading/driving key initiatives working with cross functional teams to successfully implement critical business projects, problem solutions and continuous improvement efforts.
Excellent time management skills - ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus and prioritize to provide exceptional service levels in a dynamic environment
Comfortable working in ambiguity, capable of establishing and growing functions and teams from the ground up preferred
Proficient with project management tools and techniques, such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Scrum and Kanban preferred
Experience with broad range of server-side environments, including mainframes, client-server, cloud as well as migration and system integration between environments preferred
Demonstrates knowledge of the interdependencies of key business processes, functions and risks. Identifies and uses the key financial indicators necessary to measure business performance. Knows the competition; is aware of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace. Identifies and anticipates customer requirements, expectations, and needs.
