About the Role

Enrollment Service Operations seeks a Degree Coding Specialist. The Degree Coding Specialist maintains the Degree Advice system coding for Campus Solutions that supports schools and college academic advising for undergraduate and graduate students. This position communicates with University academic administrators to obtain curriculum changes and code new degree program requirements. The Degree Coding Specialist performs tests and quality control steps to ensure accuracy of programming code.

The Degree Coding Specialist works closely with the Office of the University Registrar, other colleagues within Enrollment Service Operations, and central Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) to prepare, test, and implement degree advice system upgrades and enhancements. This role also works closely with schools and colleges to ensure accuracy within the degree advice system.

The Degree Coding Specialist’s primary duties include:

  • Coordinating receipt of schools’ and colleges’ annual academic degree program and curriculum changes;

  • Reviewing new and current curricula modifications on a regular basis for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to university policies and procedures;

  • Clarifying and confirming appropriate authorizations before encoding;

  • Coding and scribing curricula changes in the student information system: registration database;

  • Performing tests and quality control steps by exercising program code in a test environment;

  • Developing test scenarios to adequately represent school/college new and changed curricula and;

  • Communicating with schools/colleges about approval for production of new curricula

About the Candidate

A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position. Ideally, we are seeking a candidate who:

  • Has 3-5 years of experience

  • Demonstrates strong decision making skills

  • Is attentive to detail

  • Displays strong interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Has strong computer and technical skills

Experience with degree advice coding systems is preferred, but not required.
