Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks applicants for the position of Climate Office Summer Intern. Duties and Responsibilities The intern position will support theDepartment of Conservation Climate Office to address climate-related challenges in the Commonwealth and may work across needs of theClimateoffice. The Internwill be exposedtoa range of projects and dutiesrelated to a variety of climate mitigation and adaptationtopics,basedin parton the intern’s interests andthe needs of the Climate Office. Topics include energy use and emissions tracking, EV charging infrastructure deployment,solarandair-source heat pump deployment,coastal flood resilience,shade structuredeployment,and more. This range of projects and duties may include but is not limited to: * Creatingcentralizedenergy use and emissions trackingplatformfor DCR Climate Action Team use * Supportingcollection ofenergy-use data, utility information,and other projects to ensure successful tracking of decarbonizationefforts * Developing internal- and external-facing documentshighlighting DCR’sdecarbonization and climate adaptation efforts and best practices * Supporting GIS-related projects, includingStory Mapson coastal flooding and interactive maps on DCR’s decarbonization efforts * Writingandeditingclimate office reports * Compiling and presenting information at internal DCR meetings, such as the Net Zero Working Group * SupportingDCRequity and environmental justice priorities Preferred Knowledge and Skills * General knowledge of clean energy and environmental topics * Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Workingknowledge of ArcGIS Online * Ability to write effectively * Strong communication and administrative skills * Ability to work independently and collaborate as a team player * Strong interpersonal skills First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
