Overview

University Instructors (UI) is seeking a dynamic Academic Specialist with a passion for instructional design, supervision, and coaching for classroom instructors. Responsibilities

Overview

University Instructors (UI) is seeking a dynamic Manager of Data Services (MDS) to manage the data services team under the direction of the UI Executive Vice President. The MDS will oversee data governance which includes setting quality assurance measures to successfully execute data operations such as data quality, data policies and procedures, reporting methods, and data security.

The MDS will also oversee the data analytics and reporting process for clients including standard partner reports and student growth data. He/she will collaborate closely with clients and other divisions of UI to ensure data reporting requirements are within the scope of work required to accurately and successfully deliver the reports required.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  1. Define scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals.

  2. Set and continually manage expectations with team members and other stakeholders.

  3. Plan, estimate, schedule and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

  4. Use and refine best practices and tools for project execution and management.

  5. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.

  6. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency.

  7. Become an expert in TutorEd Track application, and underlying data structures and repositories.

  8. Maintain and ensure restricted data access using data security protocols.

  9. Supervise Data Scientists, Data Specialists and Data Analysts.

  10. Manage and support the Data Specialists and Data Analysts through the reporting process cycle.

  11. Manage and support the ongoing development of metrics for reporting.

  12. Create, maintain, and approve data collection and reporting schedules.

  13. Meet with Partners when UI Executive Vice President deems necessary, to coordinate the exchange of data or assist with understanding the data collection process.

  14. Communicate and approve necessary changes/modifications to reporting to meet partner reporting obligations.

  15. Collaborate with various divisions such as IT, Program Management, Instruction, and Sales, to support understanding of data reporting capabilities.

  16. Stay current with trends and challenges within K-12 data reporting and makes necessary improvements when necessary.

  17. Work collaboratively with UI Team members; PMs, PCs, and PAs to understand program parameters and reporting needs.

  18. Monitor and maintain the fidelity of the UI data-sharing agreement.

  19. Stay current with National, State, and Local K-12 accountability systems.

  20. Continuously improve partner reporting process between TutorEd Track and the UI database.

  21. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

We are looking for someone who possesses:

  • Experience in data governance in a K-12 setting.

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement models.

  • Knowledge of various assessment tools used in K-12 setting.

  • Knowledge of accountability systems for K-12 students.

  • Organizational skills and self-management.

  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

As a successful applicant, you must have a passion for advocating for and helping students succeed. Additionally, you will need to:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree, K-12 administrative licensure preferred

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in K-12 setting

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with data analysis and data governance

Compensation

$33-$37/hour
