The Counterfeit Avoidance Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is one of a core team of engineers that develop, improve and execute Raytheon’s process for mitigating counterfeit avoidance risk from our supplier base. The SQE works interfaces with supply chain, program managers, engineering, as well as directly with suppliers to ensure high risk procurements are completed in accordance with Raytheon’s command media and meet the contractual requirements for the order.

Additionally, the SQE will be required to travel within the United States (< 10%) and annually assess Raytheon’s approved independent distributors and associated testing laboratories. This position requires willingness to learn and keep current with the counterfeit avoidance industry practices and standards and bring this knowledge into our procedures as they evolve over time. This position requires a variety of skills and knowledge to be successful and is considered a “Subject Matter Expert” role within Raytheon. This position is currently designated as fully remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories

What You Will Do:

  • Interpret quality requirements, industry standards, and contractual regulations for application to Raytheon procurements

  • Support maintenance and improvement for Raytheon counterfeit avoidance policy

  • Ensure flow down of counterfeit avoidance requirements to suppliers

  • Review and approve authenticity testing reports from suppliers

  • Coordinate approvals of high counterfeit risk approvals, ensuring customer

  • Conduct collaborative communication with supplier, cross business teams and customer

  • Support independent distributor approval and maintenance efforts, such as recurring assessments

  • Lead containment and corrective action teams when suspect counterfeit materials are identified

  • Attend counterfeit industry conferences and seminars to keep alignment with best practices

  • This position is a remote role.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s STEM related degree and a minimum of 8+ years prior quality engineering experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 6+ years’ experience

  • Experience working with Supplier Quality Management

  • Experience with commercial and aerospace / defense regulations and/or standards of a commercial equivalent with any of the following: - AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, ISO-9001, AS9145

  • Experience with Military/Defense or Aerospace Industry specifications/standards

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Working knowledge of counterfeit avoidance industry and associated standards (AS5553, AS6081, AS6171)

  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, customers or internal stakeholders

  • Experience assessing and managing supplier process and performance

  • Communication skills that exhibit presence and influence

  • Self-managed technical contributor with experience working remotely

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
