Nike Converse Senior Digital Copy Manager; Global Digital Design in Boston, Massachusetts

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Writing, Communications, Journalism or a related field

  • 6+ years of writing experience in a corporate or agency environment required, preferably as a copywriter for a major brand, e-commerce company or digital design agency

  • Authoritative command of the English language (including spelling, grammar, punctuation)

  • Creative, daring, and digitally savvy

  • A genuine passion for digital marketing and the online space with a strong knowledge of digital commerce, performance marketing (email, paid social and other media) SEO writing, A/B testing, writing for different and multiple target audiences, and social media platforms

  • Experience writing compelling and creative email, editorial and other online marketing material

  • Able to handle multiple and opposing work priorities, demands and changes

  • Familiarity with project tracking tools such as Asana or Trello

  • Knowledge of footwear and/or apparel design construction and terminology

  • Deep connection to streetwear culture and trend

  • Management experience of teams with 3+ people

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re seeking a Senior Manager to lead our Digital Copywriting function. Our Digital Copywriting team is part of the Global Digital Design team at Converse HQ. We’re looking for someone who can inspire a team of editors and writers and will lead by example, bring subject matter expertise, creative inspiration and direction to the team. This role will focus on leading advanced operational work in support of business & company goals.

The Senior Manager of Copywriting will lead and give direction to your team to create compelling storytelling and effective copywriting to fuel our consumer journeys across e-commerce experiences (converse.com), performance marketing (email, paid social, banners) and product copy (sell-in storytelling and PDP copy).

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

In addition to the team of writers, daily you will be collaborating with the functions on our Global Digital Design team (Creative Operations, Content Design and Digital Design). You’ll also spend a lot of time with the Experience Strategy, Brand, UX, Geography Digital teams and Product Teams.

  • Ability to socialize and present creative work in a compelling and persuasive way to cross-functional partners and senior leadership

  • Craft and develop digital content and storytelling with our Gen-Z consumer in mind

  • Experience in leading teams and a love for management & mentoring

YOUR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In collaboration with the Creative Director, Operations, Content and Design teams, directs a team to develop and drive innovative solutions for digital storytelling across converse.com platforms and all commercial digital touchpoints

  • Owns and leads seasonal storytelling; tone-of-voice, briefing, onboarding external partners & agencies and giving substantial feedback to internal and external designers

  • Actively gains knowledge of Converse’s products (digital) and processes, trends, the consumer and the communities we stand for, and overall marketplace culture.

  • Managers and mentors direct reports and copy team. Encourage, recognize and reward team members. Be a positive driving force. Promote team spirit and build energy and optimism in others to achieve the team and company vision.

  • Excellent communication and partnership skills

  • Communicates and presents design concepts; creates presentation materials that successfully communicate design concepts—mentors team to present their work a persuasive and compelling way
