Manulife Consultant Databases Manager in Boston, Massachusetts
The Opportunity
The Consultant Databases Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of the management, maintenance, and strategic development of our investment consultant databases. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that our investment products and strategies are accurately represented and accessible to investment consultants and institutional clients. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in investment management, data analysis, and team leadership.
Leadership and Management:
As part of the Global Content and Database Management team, manage the firm’s consultant database efforts, with oversight of the consultant database analyst, providing guidance and support.
Collaborate with senior management to align database strategies with overall business objectives.
Partner with Consultant Relations, Institutional Sales, Client Reporting, and Product Support teams.
Create and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and analytical tools to provide insights into investment performance and trends.
Participate in Distribution meetings, providing data-driven insights and solutions.
Assist in the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
Day to day relationship manager with third party service providers.
Database Management:
Lead the maintenance and accuracy of investment consultant databases, ensuring timely updates and data integrity.
Manage the collection, organization, and presentation of investment data for consultant databases.
Assist with troubleshooting technical data flow issues when they arise, work with partners to resolve.
Support ad hoc requests such as search support, new product additions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct detailed analysis of investment data to support product positioning and marketing efforts.
Develop and generate reports for internal partners, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to find opportunities for database enhancements.
Technology and Innovation:
Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve database management and data analysis processes.
Continuously seek opportunities to enhance data collection methods, storage solutions, and analytical capabilities, with an eye towards automation.
What are we looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
5-8 years of experience in investment management, data analysis, or a related field.
Proven experience in managing investment consultant databases and leading projects.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
Proficiency in advanced excel, power bi, eVestment Analytics.
Experience with a consultant database support tool such as APX Stream, Omni Source preferred.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to investment consulting is a plus.

Salary range is expected to be between
$90,225.00 USD - $162,405.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
