Your day to day

Truly memorable experiences don’t just come from delicious dishes, fine dining and exquisite ambiance. Which is why we’re searching for a new Cocktail Server confident in delivering unforgettable experiences through a warm welcome, inspired recommendations and seamless service from starter to dessert and beyond.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Greet guests pleasantly as they approach the bar; promote house drinks and utilize up-selling skills to maximize revenues.

Perform pre- and post-shift side-work. Stock service station. Fold and stack cocktail napkins and prepare bowls of bar snacks.

Record order on guest check and ring up on pre-check register or according to hotel procedures.

Complete customer payment transactions according to cash and charge procedures.

Clear and clean tables in a prompt and efficient manner. Clean and/or wipe down stools, tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors as necessary. Empty trash and ashtrays.

Assist Bartender in preparation of fruits and garnishes; may assist Bartender in setup and replenishment of appetizers or buffet, if applicable.

Monitor guest behavior and amount of alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers; check identification whenever age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable.

Alert Management of any service and/or safety issues. Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.

Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Coordinate with Bartender and kitchen for ordering and receipt of food and beverages.

Be ready to jump into other ad-hoc duties when your colleagues need your help.

Always follow safety procedures.

What we need from you

Fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day with lots of bending and kneeling.

Strength – you’ll need to lift, push and pull big objects like barrels and crates up to 50lbs (23 kg).

Literate – you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths.

Flexible – night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.

Experienced – you’ll know how to prepare a serving a range of drinks and food.

Compliant – as well as meeting local laws on food handling and serving alcohol, you’ll be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language.

Articulate – a great communicator, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.
