75640BRJob Posting Title:Clinical Research Manager I-Patient Safety Research ProgramDepartment:Medicine-General PediatricsAutoReqId:75640BRStatus:Full-TimeStandard Hours per Week:40 Job Posting Category:ResearchJob Posting Description:The Division of General Pediatrics is host to the Center for Diagnostic Excellence, a multisite collaborative research center that aims to develop, test, and disseminate interventions to optimize healthcare quality, eliminate disparities in care quality and safety, and improve communication with patients and families, particularly among children with chronic conditions. Building from this center, we are developing a Patient Safety Research Program, which seeks to improve pediatric patient safety locally at Boston Children's, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Our curious and enthusiastic research faculty and staff from diverse educational and social backgrounds collaborate in the development and execution of a variety of descriptive, observational, and experimental protocols. Qualified candidates will work with Drs. Walsh and Landrigan to develop the Patient Safety Research Program, support the Center for Diagnostic Excellence, and provide scientific and managerial support of the clinical research studies.

This Clinical Research Manager I will be responsible for:

• Manages daily operations of ongoing patient safety research studies. Collaborates and consults on the design, development, and conduct of clinical research studies and on clinical research best practices.

• Facilitates meetings to develop Center vision and short, medium and long term goals.

• Oversees Center Research Assistants and other Staff. Manages Staff’s Performance Reviews

• Works with Dr Walsh to develop a staffing model and work plan. Assists with the hiring of new Staff.

• Develops, tracks and reports on metrics to monitor progress such as funded grants, publications, etc. Leads design and development of data management and data monitoring tools and procedures and supervises data management staff and activities in compliance with GCP and program standards.

• Works with study investigators and statisticians to plan analyses, clean and verify data and facilitate preparation of datasets for analysis and publication.

• Supports Dr Walsh in work to increase national awareness of the center and its activities a presence on social media, at relevant meetings, etc.

• Assists Dr Walsh to create and regularly convene an Advisory Panel for Center.

• Ensures work is performed in conformance with established hospital, program, federal, and state policies and procedures.

In order to qaulify you must have:

• The minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant work experience; or a Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant work experience.

• A focus on Public Health, Epidemiology or similar. '

• Advanced verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions.

• Ability to balance competing demands; highly motivated, detail oriented, organized.

• Strong mathematical skills.

• Analytical skills to gather and interpret data in which the information or problems are moderately complex to complex.

• Experience with health services research or research on healthcare quality or safety helpful but not required.
