In this position...

Reporting to the Communications Director for electric vehicles, energy and battery technology and matrixed to the communications director for electric vehicle Go To Market this role will ensure close collaboration between communications, marketing, dealers, policy and technical business functions. Specifically,

  • You’ll identify and create engaging, impactful narratives around Ford’s products and services in battery technology, energy services and retail charging

  • You’ll work closely with the Model e product, battery, energy services and charging business teams and their associated communications leads

  • You’ll be part of a dynamic, diverse team helping give more people the opportunity to save time and money by switching to electric while also helping to reduce overall vehicle emissions.

What you'll do...

  • Deliver how we will roll out updates to our Energy Services (V2L and V2G) and Battery Innovation (including advanced work happening at Ion Park) to multiple stakeholders (external and internal.)

  • Lead storytelling of Ford’s retail charging programs – including major news and responding to media charging inquiries across public and home charging.

  • Become an expert in battery technology – current and new chemistries and the associated benefits for our customers and communicate accordingly.

  • Own alignment on news-making and storytelling timing and content reviews with all key partners – especially marketing, product, customer and dealer teams.

  • Support efforts to influence key opinion leaders as well as translate technical advancement to tangible benefits for our customers.

  • Collaborate with Ford Pro (our commercial division) to ensure clean differentiation between our retail, dealer, and commercial offerings.

  • Collaborate with media content teams to align on consistent media releases whether that be video, social, blog or traditional .

  • Author technical briefs for news and confirm content with business / technical leaders

  • Support senior leaders with charging briefing materials for internal and external communications.

  • Nurture relationships and drive alignment within the global Communications team involving charging matters with teams tied to Ford Blue, Lincoln, Model e and Ford Pro business units, Manufacturing, Labor, Legal and Government Affairs.

  • Interact with members of Ford and agency support teams on various projects.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field

  • 5+ years of effective communications and business experience in a complex organization, with a focus on technical storytelling and media relations at either an agency or corporation

  • Proven experience in tech communications and you’ll demonstrate interest in the advancement of electric vehicles and future auto technologies.

  • A head for process and the creativity to break it when you need to.

  • The ability to work and make decisions independently as well as the emotional intelligence to work in a fast-paced team

  • Confidence in the different skillsets and working styles needed for internal and external communications

  • Master's Degree in Communications or related field

  • 8 years of effective communications and business experience

This position is a salary grade 8.
