Basic Purpose:

The Business Continuity Associate will be a member of the Eaton Vance Business Continuity Team responsible for corporate resilience. The Business Continuity Associate will be responsible for coordinating and planning Business Continuity activities for an assigned set of departments, assist in the creation, testing and continuous improvement of business resiliency solutions, Crisis Management plans, disaster recovery and BCP exercises as well as corporate education and awareness activities. During business-interrupting events, the Associate will assist in the incident management process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Business Continuity Planning efforts of multiple departments

  • Perform Risk, Business Impact and Gap analyses

  • Coordinate with the Information Technology department recovery solution implementations to meet business requirements

  • Conduct vendor/service provider risk assessment and due diligence

  • Document Recovery plans

  • Maintain the central repository of business continuity information, including department recovery/BCP plans, and contact information

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Crisis Management Plan

  • Assist in process improvement, automation and other BC program enhancements

  • Develop training materials and conduct employee awareness training

  • Take a leadership role as Incident Coordinator during business interrupting events

  • Maintain Recovery Site readiness

  • Manage and maintain BC Team tools (e.g. Notification Tools, SharePoint and Business Continuity Software)

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 1-2+ years direct experience in Business Continuity Planning and Crisis Management preferred

  • Experience in financial services / asset management firms preferred

  • Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) or equivalent designation preferred

  • Experience troubleshooting issues and developing plans of action

  • Familiarity with Business Continuity regulations, standards and best practices

  • Familiarity with IT recovery best practices

  • Familiarity and expertise in Business Continuity Planning software and automated notification tools

  • Detail orientation with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects

  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills enabling cross-department collaboration

  • Able to effectively collaborate and communicate across all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing

  • Software:

    - Microsoft Office applications including Work, Excel, Project and Visio required - SharePoint - Database design, query construction and reporting knowledge preferred
  • Ability to evaluate issues, assess options, and know when to escalate material concerns

  • Experience working with technology and other vendors

  • Able to stay calm in a crisis situation in order assess, decide and execute an appropriate action plan

  • 10%-15% travel may be required

  • Able to work occasional nights and weekends
