System One Biologist (5-7 years) in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Title: Biology 5-7 Years 2375

Location: Boston, MA

Shift: M-F 8 am - 5 pm

Type: Contract 12 months

Pay: $67.40/hour max (depending upon experience)

Must Haves:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • MS with 2 to 7 years or BS with 5 to 10 years of experience on assay development.

  • AAV experience (Adeno-associated viruses strongly preferred).

  • Strong mammalian cell culture experience is required.

  • Scientific training and hands-on experience with various cell-based and molecular assays, cell-based potency assay, ELISA, Western Blot, qPCR, RT-qPCR, and DNA/RNA/protein extraction from cells and animal (including NHP) tissues

  • Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented

  • Experience using Benchling for lab activity documentation strongly preferred

  • Good written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.

    Responsibilities:

  • The Research group is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to develop, optimize, execute bioanalytical assays to support Lilly’s gene therapy programs.

    In this role, you will work closely with a team of scientists to advance AAV (Adeno-associated viruses) based gene therapies.

  • As a member of the Translational team, you must be able to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment, manage work priorities, and have the desire to succeed at the highest level.

  • Develop, optimize, and execute bioanalytical assays to characterize AAV vectors designed for various therapeutic programs and to evaluate PK/PD profiles of such vector in appropriate model systems.

  • Perform sample analysis per established method or SOP

  • Contribute to the tech transfer of developed assays to internal or external collaborators

  • Support internal Translational lab operation and maintenance

  • Perform data analysis and author/ review method SOP, assay development summary and report
