Red Hat Associate Software Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts

Job summary

The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join us. In this role, you will contribute to one of our most important and innovative projects: Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console, which is the customer-facing platform for most of Red Hat’s managed cloud services. You will serve as an engineer on a team responsible for amplifying and accelerating the ability of developers to quickly develop and deploy SaaS applications to console.redhat.com. As a developer on the team, you’ll write code, review pull requests and fix bugs all within an agile environment. You’ll need to be someone who is smart, friendly, collaborative and one who loves to learn.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Define, implement and deliver automated tools and solutions that maximize developer joy and productivity

  • Continuously improve the process of software delivery, from scoping to deployment, while maintaining a sustainable pace

  • Design and build tools and systems that automate operational tasks

  • Build and deliver tooling that allows developers to easily monitor site availability, reliability, performance and troubleshoot issues with their live SaaS applications

  • Collaborate and innovate cross-functionally with other engineers and developers to deliver creative solutions for console.redhat.com, including product and infrastructure enhancements

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a technology-related discipline

  • Comfortable building software deployed as containers

  • Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, TravisCI

  • Comfortable with rapid iteration and fast delivery

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Experience with the following are considered a plus:

  • Linux containers

  • Comfortable using logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch, NewRelic

  • Developing, deploying and operating microservices

  • OpenShift by Red Hat

  • Open source software

  • Experience with GO

The salary range for this position is $86,640.00 - $138,500.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
