Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Lead, Commercial Data Management (Associate Director).

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Data Strategy & Management (CDSM), this role is a primary point of contact for data consumers across the Commercial organization and IT, taking responsibility for reporting requirements, data mapping, ad-hoc query delivery to support reporting initiatives and systems integration of new data assets. This high-visibility role is a strategic partner to its stakeholders and a thought leader around the data assets CDSM manages. This position requires a well-developed understanding of the methods of database queries and of data analysis, particularly as they apply to the tracking of sales data, field activity and data inquiry investigation.

The Lead, Commercial Data Management is a crucial role that partners with both the business stakeholders and the Commercial Data Warehouse (CDW) on the collection, implementation, accuracy, security, timeliness and accessibility of the organizations commercial data sets. This role blends technical capabilities and pharma data knowledge with an understanding of various business operations processes and systems, such as CRM, targeting and alignments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • ​​Gather/translate business data requirements into technical specifications

  • Partners with the Commercial Data Warehouse (CDW) team to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of the data

  • Key partner in driving strategic development of future CDW functionality and use

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine data needs and evaluate data sources

  • Partner with the CDW and Business Stakeholders to execute data integration projects (i.e., New CDW builds, etc)

  • Management of all master data (MDM) sets (i.e., Customer Master, Product Master, Payer Master)

  • Communication of all MDM related issues and changes to stakeholders

  • Creation and implementation of data policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and 3rd party vendor guidelines

  • Ensure data democratization by working with the CDW team and stakeholders to enable access to data for informed decision making​

Key Core Competencies

  • ​Strong communication and organization skills, team oriented and customer focused

  • Solution oriented with high attention to detail and sense of urgency, possessing data curiosity and ability to think creatively to answer critical business questions

  • Able to effectively manage projects from requirements gathering to production release

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience with specialty pharmacy aggregation and aggregation partners a plus

  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing and growth-oriented environment with regularly changing priorities and developing opportunities

  • Extensive experience with third party pharmaceutical syndicated data (IQVIA, Symphony, DRG, etc.)

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 8 – 10 years (w/o Master’s) or 6 – 8 years (with Master’s) of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry

  • 7+ years’ experience in Commercial Data Management or other relevant experience such as Commercial Analytics, IT, etc

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in data analysis and report design/development

  • Knowledge and experience with relational database concepts and query tools

  • Knowledge of SQL and data extraction methodologies

  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, Spotfire, etc)

The base salary range for this role is $150,300 - $187,900 . Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes unlimited paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
