Boston University ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ENERGY PROGRAMS, FMP Facilities Management & Planning in BOSTON, Massachusetts
Work in fast paced environment with reoccurring deadlines and deliverables. Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks when needed. Must be able to comfortably/effectively present to and communicate with upper management as well as unionized workforce and 3rd party contractors/vendors. Must be able to lead and collaboratively work to establish and roll-out a robust plan for impactful energy efficiency systems/solutions that will substantially lower the energy and associated carbon emissions for the University Responsibilities include project management of energy efficiency retrofits in support of Boston Universitys goals for reducing energy consumption and supporting the goals of the climate action plan. These energy efficiency projects will be varied in scope and complexity and will including lighting, HVAC, and Building Automation and controls projects.
Required Skills
Preferred qualifications:
BS engineering or other highly technical field (physics, chemistry, earth science, etc)
5-7 years of experience (including relevant work study, internships, or co-ops)
Knowledge of building science or building systems highly preferred
Experience with large Multi-Million dollar energy efficiency project, scoping, vendor selection, project implementation, and savings verification
Membership in ASHRAE or AEE preferred
Certified Energy Manager (CEM in Training) or LEED Accredited Professional preferred
Demonstrated leadership qualities, including ability to speak publicly and effectively, lead both small and large groups in pursuit of joint objectives
Demonstrated project management effectiveness •Excellent interpersonal skills at varying levels of sophistication
Ability to analyze and synthesize quantitative information for different audiences
Excellent written communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work constructively with individuals of varied experience levels and personalities to achieve consensus
Ability to manage workload across multiple projects, manage project timelines, and to work independently
