Job Description

AECOM has an excellent career opportunity for a creative, highly talented Architectural Project Manager for immediate employment in our Boston, MA location which serves as our home office to support federal programs throughout the US and internationally.

As a Project Manager, you will lead the development of task order proposals; support the management team in tracking task budgets, monitoring activity schedules, and implementing product quality standards; and otherwise support the Program Managers.

In this role, you will provide leadership to the team by communicating project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • In partnership with the Project Director, Sr Manager and/or Project Architect, you will assist in leading a team, or multiple teams in the delivery of a wide range of projects.

  • Oversee and ensure all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.

  • Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.

  • Ensure project completion within budget, schedule and in conformance with specifications.

  • Review contracts and sub-contracts.

  • Monitor project financials and report to the Project Manager.

  • Develop and maintain design schedules for approval.

  • Resolve field-initiated questions with the technical design team.

  • Coordinate and direct activities among the design groups.

  • Participate and attend design review meetings and recording meeting minutes and tracking action items.

  • Coordinate the development of project deliverables with the design team.

  • Participate in building and maintaining a positive client relationship.

  • Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering, plus a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience managing multidisciplinary projects, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Registered Architect.

  • Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship only is required.

  • Demonstrated experience with DoD projects.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing subcontractors.

  • Position will require travel domestically and possibly internationally.

  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in design management and resolving issues.

  • Experience in services during construction, including answering RFI’s and reviewing submittals.

  • Be client facing and lead client discussions.

  • Proficient in MS Suite, SharePoint (or similar collaboration tools) and remote communications applications such as Teams, Zoom, etc.

  • Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects through the design process.

  • Revit and BIM experience as well as experience in Photoshop, Microsoft Office.

  • Support projects within the last 10 years through all phases of design and construction.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $150,000.00 - $175,000.00.
