Capstone Partners is seeking a Market Intelligence Analyst to assist in the research and production of outbound market intelligence content. This individual will track merger and acquisition (M&A) activity across a variety of sectors. The reports are essential to Capstone’s business development and brand recognition and are used by thousands of business owners, alliance partners, private equity groups, and news outlets as a valuable source of M&A information.

The Analyst’s core responsibility will be to work closely with the firm’s Managing Directors and Directors to write reports and articles for their outbound business development efforts.

Additional responsibilities include collecting data for the Quarterly Middle Market M&A Update, copy editing team content, supporting on proprietary research reports, and assisting senior members of the Market Intelligence team on research projects.

Applicants should have relevant experience or coursework in financial writing and must have graduated with a four-year degree in an applicable major, preferably Economics, Finance, English, or Business.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and/or assist in writing industry reports and articles

  • Identify M&A transactions using secondary research databases

  • Contribute to the firm’s evergreen content

  • Complete report layout and design in PowerPoint

  • Copy edit and proofread reports for accuracy and adherence to Capstone style guides

  • Draft press releases and website text for report postings

  • Take on additional projects as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Four-year degree required

  • Attention to detail

  • Intellectual curiosity

  • Self-motivated

  • Skilled writer

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects on deadline

  • Strong work ethic and high degree of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with Capital IQ, FactSet, and Pitchbook a plus

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States - E-Verify Employer
