What You’ll Be Doing:

The Actuarial Analyst will inform decision making across the company and for our clients, by conducting analyses and developing actionable insights. The Actuarial Analyst will have the opportunity to shape team culture and operating norms as a result of the fast-paced nature of a new, high-growth organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data analyses and financial projections that impact foundational pricing and risk assumptions

  • Perform financial analyses to support health plan and provider organization partners

  • Develop actuarial models for use across multiple teams and projects

  • Streamline processes to improve efficiency of key deliverables

  • Collaborate with various functional areas across Evolent Health including Clinical, Finance, and Analytics

  • Partner kith market teams including Operations and Provider Engagement

  • Communicate actuarial concepts and concerns to Evolent’s internal and external partners

  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to support data-driven insights to answer specific business questions that arise from company leadership and client physicians

  • Play a key role in Evolent’s partnerships with providers to change the way healthcare is delivered

The Experience You’ll Need (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics or related degree.

  • Candidates must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed a minimum of one actuarial exam

  • Strong technical skills required in Microsoft office

Finishing Touches (Preferred):

  • Past actuarial experience and/or internship

  • Understanding of Medicaid

  • Experience with financial forecasting

  • Familiarity or experience with medical/pharmacy claims

  • Ability to read and write SQL and/or SAS code

Technical requirements:

Currently, Evolent employees work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19. As such, we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 MBPS and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. The typical range of employees within the compensation grade of this position is . Salaries are determined by the skill set required for the position and commensurate with experience and may vary above and below the stated amounts.
