The School of Arts and Sciences seeks adjunct faculty to teach online courses in Introduction to Psychology during the Spring semester, 2021. This course is designed to orient students to the scientific study of behavior through the exploration of selected principles and theories of human behavior. Topics include perception, learning and memory, personality development, abnormal behavior, and social influences on behavior.
Develops and manages the class syllabus and ensurses that the syllabus meets department and university standards Plans and creates lectures, in-class discussions and other active learning activities and assignments in alignment with course learning objectives Grades assigned papers, quizzes, and exams Assesses grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations Uses Blackboard, the university?s learning management system (LMS), and other outreach technologies to communicate with students about the course Meets with students during weekly office hours Refers students of concern to appropriate campus partners
Required: A master?s degree, ABD (or the equivalent) in psychology. A minimum of at least one year of experience teaching Introduction to Psychology at the college level.
Desired: Experience teaching students in health sciences majors.
