SMX is seeking an Account Manager, State and Local to support our growing team ideally located in the Northeast region.

Job Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Develop Account strategies for assigned accounts

  • Accountable for driving business, and meeting or exceeding quota goals, for government sales

  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline and related territory target lists in

  • Support renewals and growth of existing projects

  • Responsible for account contract maintenance and negotiation with the support of outside sales and back office

  • Responsible for all duties from prospecting to closing accounts, in partnership with the outside sales executive.

  • Prospect, generate, qualify and follow up on assigned leads.

  • Provide accurate and timely updates on pipeline and forecast utilizing Salesforce.

  • Articulate the full range of Smartronix solutions, Cloud technologies, products, and services and identify how these products and services align to customer needs.

  • Communicate technical, industry, and market facts to position Smartronix as a best of breed Solution Provider with customers.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, cross-functionally (Outside Sales Executive, SEs, Channel Partners, Marketing, etc), to support the sales strategy.

  • Maintain in-depth product, industry trend, and technical knowledge.

  • Analyze and explore market trends and identify future opportunities in assigned accounts

  • Establish strong, long-term client relationships

  • Lead development of Proposal in defined targets in support of or in replacement of Sales Function

  • Achieve assigned strategic account objectives

  • Suggest solutions and innovative ideas to meet client needs

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports and forecasts

  • Promote the Smartronix brand


  • Clearance requirement: None

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.

  • 4 years of Government and/or Technical Sales experience

  • 2+ years of Cloud or enterprise selling experience

  • 4+ years of Government IT selling experience with Northeast State and local a plus!

  • Self-motivated with a high attention to detail and ability to multitask.

  • Manage time efficiently, meet personal goals, and work effectively with other members the Public Sector division

  • Strong drive for results, and the ability to deal with ambiguity.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Works with partners to extend reach & drive adoption

  • Demonstrated good judgment in analyzing information to make decisions.

  • Experience in proactively growing customer relationships within an account while expanding their understanding of the customer’s business

  • Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership

  • Track record of developing sustainable new business
