Boston University ACADEMIC PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR, School of Public Health, Global Health in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Academic Program Administrator manages the day-to-day operations for the five Masters of Public Health (MPH) certificate programs administratively housed within the Department of Global Health. They will be able to describe the program, policies, and explain requirements to graduate students enrolled in their respective certificate degree programs. They will act as an advocate/facilitator on behalf of students in some situations and will work closely with faculty and administration at the School of Public Health. This position manages student information, curriculum development, production of publications, updating of courses, syllabi, academic documents, and organizes the department annual retreat. This person, in conjunction with the Department Chair, Executive Director, Program Directors, Career Services, and Directors of Professional and Academic Advising and Graduate Student Life, oversees curricular and department educational activities.

This position will also be directly supporting departmental curricular and educational activities and events, seminars, and meetings, including associated logistics i.e. space reservations, catering, AV equipment needs. The APA will also attend faculty/ educational/ committee meetings and be responsible for taking meeting notes as well as assisting in scheduling/ setting up zoom meetings.

Required Skills

Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse student population; ability to develop and manage relationships across various stakeholders (i.e. students, faculty, program and university administration); ability to work both independently and as part of a team; demonstrated ability to be self-motivate with problem solving; Professional demeanor and excellent customer service abilities. This position is on-campus, in-person.
