We are looking for a passionate Sr. UX/UI Designer who is experienced in both UX and visual design. The Sr. UX/UI Designer will help design and create innovative and results-driven experiences for our members. You will work closely with our Product and Engineering divisions to lead the future of BJs.com – bringing a cohesive design and experience and helping incorporate significant features to help drive our business further.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Design and build complex user-centered designs, including wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using Figma

  • Partner and collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and cross-functional business partners on projects to align to our strategic roadmap

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of the business and the variety of issues that could impact user and business outcomes; leveraging this knowledge to help define business problems and solutions

  • Efficiently balances and manages complex user, business, and technical requirements to make sound information architecture design decisions

  • Write functional requirement documents and specifications for acceptance criteria and interaction design

  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies, design processes, and usability best practices

  • Expertly identifies user testing opportunities and conducts all aspects of complex usability testing independently, determining which tests are appropriate for the given situation to attain answers quickly and succinctly

  • Thoughtfully synthesizes user testing findings and insights to inform design decisions and share back with core team and stakeholders

  • Displays expert knowledge in visual design, maintaining graphic standards and branding, while recognizing when there is a need for new interaction design patterns

  • Assist product team with UAT testing and QA

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Design, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with a portfolio of relevant work

  • Experience in retail eCommerce

  • Experience designing for responsive sites and mobile apps

  • Proficient in Figma

  • Experience building for and conducting different types of user testing studies

  • Experience assisting developers with UAT testing and QA

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate designs and user journeys to product and business stakeholders

  • Ability to partner and collaborate with product and developers to implement new ideas that improve and enhance the member journey

Expectations

  • 5+ years of professional experience with portfolio demo

  • Work as part of a truly cross-functional, agile development team

  • Show initiative and drive topics to resolution with a high level of quality, speed, reliability, and efficiency

  • Actively drive business requirements and enhancements

  • Research trends for CX and UX and be current with product design and interaction design

  • A senior experienced person who is motivated to take ownership of projects and drive tasks to completion

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing technologies, frameworks, etc.

  • Ability to explain technical problems and understand stakeholders’ requirements

  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a self-organizing team

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at all hierarchy levels
