General Responsibility:

Reports to SVP of B2B.
  • Responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, achieving sales targets, and managing a team of sales representatives.

  • Proven strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinker who can think outside the box to find new and innovative methods to connect BJs to customers.

  • Be able to identify specific business markets and customer segments for potential areas of growth and create measurable on-going programs to gain incremental sales through new and existing customers.

  • Manage an organizational sales program by developing business plans, meeting planned goals, and coordinating activities and lead generation.

  • Lead your sales team by tracking sales goals, setting individual sales targets, and facilitate the ongoing training of your salespeople.

  • Works directly with customers through visitations at Clubs or at their business location(s).

  • Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to satisfy customer needs.

  • Assist in developing plans and strategies to accomplish the organizational objectives that align with the company vision and philosophy through continuous improvement of the overall effectiveness and performance of the B2B division.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds benchmark Sales and Sales Management process while providing input to the roadmap of capabilities to support transforming the sales team, to include training, development and performance management of the team.

  • Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by developing and executing effective sales plans

  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage a high-performing team of sales professionals

  • Monitor individual and team performance against objectives, taking corrective action as needed to ensure attainment of goals

  • Develop strong relationships with key customers and influencers within assigned territories

  • Understand customer needs and requirements and communicate them back to the organization

  • Remain current on industry trends and competitor activity to effectively position company solutions

  • Prepare accurate and timely reports documenting sales activities, pipeline development, and forecasted revenue

  • Provide input into the development of B2B sales management processes, marketing programs, and collateral.

  • Attend trade shows and other events as needed.

  • Serve as a positive role model for the sales team, always exhibiting ethical behavior and professional conduct.

  • Effectively and efficiently schedule and plan daily activities, while working in a fast-paced environment

  • Collect and analyze client data to learn and discern client behavior

  • Build client relationships alongside your salespeople that maintain current categories of business while also expanding into new categories and articles

  • Collaborate with internal departments and stake holders to facilitate client’s needs and fulfillment

  • Track sales goals and reporting results as required by the Sales Director

  • Maintain an updated knowledge of BJ’s products, services, and value proposition

  • Resolve client complaints, assist in returns or refunds, and prevent additional issues by improving processes with your salespeople

  • Accountable to access the team’s needs and execute ongoing training of your salespeople

  • Maintain awareness of markets, competitor activities and client problems to communicate appropriate recommendations to leadership staff

  • Ensure your team is delivering both top-line revenue as well as margin growth

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, communications, or related field preferred

  • 10+ years sales experience, with at least 5 in a management role

  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets

  • Experience developing and managing a sales team

  • Strong understanding of the sales process from prospecting to close

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to collect, track and analyze data to draw insights that can be applied to team and customer needs

  • Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent active listening skills

  • Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others with BJ’s, with vendors and with clients

  • Advanced understanding of consumer behaviors and industry trends

  • Be able to teach and learn new ideas and processes

  • Capable of discovering solutions to client issues while managing internal departments to ensure the best-in-class client-company relationship

    This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $125,500.00.
