This role manages day to day operations for Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance for BJ’s Merchandising Division. This position is responsible for ensuring the product BJ’s brings in under it’s Direct Import and/or Own Brands programs.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the execution and improvement of Own Brands and/or Direct Import Quality Testing program. This includes working with the third-party laboratories and vendors to have product scheduled for testing, inspections, and audits - interpreting results and managing corrective action plans with vendors.

  • Assist with managing the Own Brands and/or Direct Import Quality Auditing program. This includes working with vendors to ensure compliance to BJ’s auditing guidelines. This includes Social Compliance, C-TPAT, FSVP, cGMP/GFSI, and others as necessary.

  • Requests, reviews, and manages supplier audits, test reports, CAPAs, exemptions and other product safety/quality documents in support of the stage-gate development model, escalating issues in a timely manner.

  • Collects, trends and analyzes key safety and quality data, summarizes findings and shares insights with the Sr. Quality Program Manager to define actions.

  • Supports strong data and records within our information management system to ensure data integrity across our products, packaging, supplier facilities, digital site and other key assets.

  • Manage and lift regulatory compliance transportation holds based on suppliers' adherence to quality program requirements.

  • This role is responsible for working with Member Care in handling elevated Member concerns around Own Brands product. This includes working with vendors to determine deficiencies and solutions in and outside of the manufacturing process and club environment to correct product quality concerns and incorporating findings into the auditing and testing program

  • Owns the specification change management and label change management process – facilitating the collection of key information across suppliers and internal partners

  • Assist with sample reviews and/or management as needed.

  • Serve as resource for various in-house quality/compliance inquiries including reviewing specifications and assisting in recalls/remove from sale

  • Provide insight and drive continuous improvement for critical program procedures and documentation (SOPs, templates, tools, process documentation.

  • Monitor current and upcoming federal, state, and local regulatory activities related to product categories owned - advise and assist in planning, educating, and executing correlated updates to BJ's protocols and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Science, Operations, or similar.

  • 5-10 years of experience in retail/owned brand roles or within a regulated product manufacturing environment.

  • Experienced with complex quality assurance, specifications, and/or product development across multiple product categories.

  • Strong working knowledge of CPSC regulatory requirements and experience supporting compliance strategies.

  • Demonstrated track record of executing a quality management system with programs that deliver exceptional quality, safety, and compliance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong ability to foster relationships, work cross-functionally, and communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Prior global business experience a plus

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $74,500.00.
