Job Summary:

This is a highly collaborative role providing oversight of end-to-end processes and maximizing operational efficiency to optimize business impact. This person provides thought leadership, develops and translates strategy into operational goals and objectives for their process area, identifies gaps and issues that prohibit efficient, effective, and compliant business processes, working with business owners and counterparts drives solutions for evolving business requirements, prioritizes process improvements and project prioritization, remedies process deficiencies and champions investments to optimize the process area delivering high customer satisfaction and business impact.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and optimize the end-to-end Procurement to Payable (P2P) lifecycle across departments to ensure seamless procurement, accurate vendor onboarding, and prompt payment processing according to defined term

  • Develops and translates strategy into operational goals and objectives. Anticipates needs, identifies necessary resources (people and capital); assesses opportunities against business objectives, manages risk and works with counterparts to determine creative means to implement new & innovative technical & process solutions

  • Oversee Travel and Expense and PCard spend processes, defining and ensuring compliance with company policies and optimizing controls to prevent misuse or inefficiencies.

  • Ensures process specific agreed upon Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are adhered to and engages in root cause analysis of performance issues when they arise. Continually revisits SLAs to ensure proper components are being measured

  • Monitor KPIs like cycle times, invoice accuracy, and on-time payments to drive operational excellence in partnership w/ process tower lead.

  • Works with stakeholders to identify process and policy improvement opportunities and champions a culture of continuous improvement (CI). Collaborates with CI, IT, finance and other business functions to prioritize and execute projects

  • Collaborate with IT, procurement, and finance to identify and where possible streamline workflows and resolve process bottlenecks

  • Oversee migration of manual invoice payments to automated platforms (e.g., Ariba).

  • Drive adoption of digital tools to reduce manual efforts and enhance scalability.

  • Work with finance to develop and enforce policies for T&E and PCard usage, including spending limits, approval workflows, and reconciliation processes.

  • Review regular audits of T&E and PCard transactions to identify and address non-compliance or discrepancies.

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, corporate policies, and audit standards across P2P, T&E, and PCard processes. Suggest improvements to policies.

  • Identify risks and inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Provide training on P2P tools, processes, T&E, and PCard policies to ensure effective adoption and compliance.

  • Track and report on procurement efficiency, payment accuracy, supplier performance, compliance, and T&E/PCard spend metrics.

  • Develops and manages process governance model for individual process(es); participates in tower operational reviews.

  • Builds and maintains relationships throughout the organization

  • Creates a high-performance, a customer-centric culture throughout the organization, continuously monitors the needs of the customer

  • Ensures process area supports compliance goals; reports status of control environment

  • Participates in the Shared Services’ governance management boards to focus on different levels of detail regarding scope, service delivery & operational issues

  • Works in conjunction with the Shared Services Operations team to develop and operate any applicable reporting and analytics to measure the efficacy and efficiency of their process

  • Manages and reviews client service requests, issues and resolution

  • Reviews and analyzes new service requests.

  • Ensures plans for acquisitions and/or divestitures

  • Partners with HR to define process roles and providing required training capabilities.

Job Experience/Skills:

  • Strong accounting background and procure to pay processing

  • Strategic thinker and visionary with an equal passion to implement and execute.

  • Must possess outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with enterprise-wide information systems.

  • High level of business acumen and experience with procurement to pay process and systems automation ideally in retail setting; SAP and S4 Hana experience is a plus

  • Must demonstrate a passion for, and proven success in, driving continuous process improvement. Lean and Six Sigma training and/or certification is a decided plus.

  • Must be sensitive to and can manage cross culturally. Ability to manage conflict and pressure by effectively facilitating healthy interaction, discourse and decision making that builds consensus and alignment.

  • Strong Shared Services/GBS background including process optimization, service placement, and service infrastructure.

  • Proven ability to see a vision and gain alignment across the organization with exceptional impacting and influencing skills.

  • Strong experience and expertise with change management.

  • Creates an environment that inspires and enables people to collaborate and move the organization forward with a focus on developing talent.

  • Track record of elevating the capabilities of an organization for now, as well as the future.

The Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be a charismatic, collaborative leader who can articulate a vision, set direction and engage and motivate others to achieve outstanding results. The position requires a candidate who is familiar with GAAP accounting standards and internal controls and a working knowledge of procurement to payment processes, ideally in a retail setting.

This individual must be able to engage and influence other functions and key stakeholders in a collaborative manner to achieve the required outcomes. S/He must combine a strong strategic focus on continuous improvement, analytical skills and project execution capability.

    This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $142,000.00.
