Kelly Engineering is currently recruiting for a (Direct Hire) (Sr. Quality Assurance Manager) job located in Billerica, MA. The Sr. Manager, Quality Assurance develops, implements, and maintains the activities of quality control systems. Oversees development and implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products. Analyzes data and makes recommendations for corrective action necessary to ensure conformity with quality specifications. Ensures finished products conform to company standards and satisfy good manufacturing practices regulations. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Key Responsibilities and Duties / Essential Functions:
Develops quality systems and audits business processes. Manages the Company’s ISO Certification compliance program, including documentation and audits
Maintains and reports metrics for Key Performance Indicators and Score Cards
Partners with Operations, Engineering, and suppliers to ensure product quality and reliability
Promotes quality concepts such as 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen throughout manufacturing and business processes
Participates in the review of engineering designs to contribute quality considerations and requirements
Defines procedures for inspecting, testing, metrology, and evaluating the accuracy and reliability of products. Implement quality planning, control plan, FMEA inspection methodology, and root cause analysis
Examines processes for outgoing products to ensure product quality processes are followed for outgoing products
Monitors input from the field and manages external customer escalations regarding product quality-related issues; partners with customer service, engineering, or other stakeholders and implements remedial action to ensure known issues are addressed to satisfaction
Partners with suppliers to develop and implement successful supplier quality initiatives and chairs the MRB; implements and oversees in-coming quality inspection processes
Responsible for ensuring acceptable supplier score card ratings
Manages the activities of the quality team; including responsibility for hiring, developing, and performance management activities
Provides training on Quality and Quality Management Systems, as needed
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred in Engineering or Business Management
10 or more years’ related experience, including at least 3 years of managerial experience, preferably in a capital equipment manufacturing or high-tech industry. A combination of education and experience equivalent to this requirement will be considered.
Knowledge of ISO 9002-2015 & ISO1400 systems
Ability to build strong working relationships with internal customers, suppliers, and business unit managers
Strong analytical ability with an emphasis on enacting measures to improve outcomes based upon data analysis
Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines
Results-oriented leadership with ownership/accountability for responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement activities, identify bottlenecks, and drive improvements
Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations to internal or external customers
