Job Description

Location: This role is onsite at the Teledyne FLIR facility in Billerica, MA and is not a remote role. We may be able to offer a few days of work from home depending upon engineering needs. Local and regional candidates to the local areas are given preference. Relocation stipend offered for out of state residents.

Job Description:

The Sensor Systems team at the Teledyne FLIR facility in Billerica, MA is seeking for a Lead Electrical Engineer with strong background in FPGA designs. The candidate must be experienced at putting together concept architectural designs, but must be capable of implementing them as well.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

  • 15+ years of work experience in FPGA designs.

  • Experience with leading major projects, system architecture decisions, and presentations.

  • Implementation of FPGA architectures.

  • System integration and release to manufacturing.

  • Experience debugging both hardware and FPGA designs.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and respect of novel approaches to complex problems when working with others.

  • Great teamwork abilities on group projects.

  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and providing design direction to designers.

Desired Skills:

FPGA & Video Experience

  • Experience with Xilinx 7-series FPGAs, MicroBlaze, Zynq-7000, and Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC.

  • Proficiency in VHDL.

  • Proficiency in FPGA implementation, verification, simulation, timing, power analysis

  • Use of IP cores on FPGAs

  • Communication protocols: USB, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, RS232/RS422/RS485, CAN, ARINC, MIL-STD-1553.

  • High-speed interfaces: LVDS, MIPI, SERDES, PCIE Gen3/4, Aurora 8b/10b, CameraLink, Multi-gigabit transceivers

  • Video interfaces: HDMI, SMPTE, DisplayPort.

  • Bandwidth calculation

  • Memory controllers for DDRx and QDRx.

  • Understanding of high-speed interfaces.
