Senior Product Development Engineer I, CAD will perform mechanical design, create and update drawings and models using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, and maintain these documents in a PDM database system.

The Senior Product Development Engineer I, CAD will be responsible for the following:

  • Construct and manage CAD models and drawings across several teams and projects.

  • Provide detailed design and drawings and models for production level engineering requirements.

  • Design complex parts and large assemblies and systems.

  • Contribute to mechanical and electromechanical design in new product development from ideation to design transfer.

  • Perform tolerance stack up analysis for assemblies.

  • Ensure that all appropriate documentation and drawings are generated in compliance with Integra's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Plan and define scope and schedule of projects for required drawings and support documentation.

  • Perform drafting tasks as needed.

  • Annotate drawings effectively with Bill of Materials and notes.

  • Execute drawing changes in a timely manner and report on progress as needed.

  • Prepare and implement ECO's for drawings.

  • Provide support for presenting CAD models and drawings during technical and design reviews.

  • Perform surface area analysis for CAD models to support cross-functional project teams.

  • Create and maintain drawing formats, standard notes, and tables.

  • Maintain and follow all relevant engineering standards in the design of parts and systems.

  • Work on multi-functional project teams at various product development and manufacturing locations, and external vendors as required.

  • Work with other technical personnel in resolving technical, procedural, and documentation issues.

  • Provide CAD documentation, training, and support for other engineers.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve CAD software issues for users as needed.

  • Support cross-functional groups with 3D modeling, drawing, and imaging needs for catalogs and manuals.

  • Stay updated with state-of-the-art development in CAD technology by attending seminars and training events.

  • Stay informed about all applicable new rules, regulations, and standards.

  • Maintain CAD PDM database as systems administrator, while working with key stakeholders to enhance engineering productivity when using PDM system for CAD data management and revision control.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and IT teams to maintain integrity of drawings and data in CAD Product Data Management (PDM) systems.

  • Manage, perform, or assist with Program Data Management (PDM) upgrades and CAD license management.

  • Manage, perform, or assist with PDM and CAD software validation.

  • Monitor CAD software roadmap and vendor's product support calendar to perform and coordinate CAD software version upgrades when needed.

  • Work with CAD vendor in negotiating and renewing annual license subscriptions for CAD software.

  • Set up accounts and install licenses for new CAD users as needed.

  • Track CAD software usage periodically to help determine annual licensing needs.

  • Collaborate with IT in troubleshooting and fixing CAD PDM server issues as needed.

  • Work with documentation personnel to develop and maintain drawing standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical and/or Architectural)

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in CAD modeling and drawing required.

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience working with CREO CAD software tools.

  • Experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD desired.

  • Experience working in the medical device industry preferred, with knowledge of Engineering Change Controls.

  • Experience with administration of WindChill PDM and workflow desired.

  • Experience with mechanical design of complex parts and large assemblies and systems desired.

  • Strong CAD technical problem-solving abilities.

  • Familiarity with design for manufacturing practices for injection molding and machining.

  • Experience with tolerance stack up analysis tools and techniques desired

  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills (oral and written).

  • Experience with 3D printing is a plus.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and business software: (MS office).
