Job Summary:

Teledyne FLIR has become a leading provider of integrated unmanned and manned surveillance solution for domestic and international organizations. Our continued growth has created an opening for a Director, Materials to increase the effectiveness of strategic supply chain planning and provide focused leadership. The Director, Materials will develop and execute the supply planning strategy for the Integrated Solutions segment within the Unmanned Systems and Integrated Solutions line of business.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive supply planning process.

  • Implement process improvement and systems projects to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and increase organizational capability.

  • Provide regular updates to business unit leaders, interacting with multiple cross functional business.

  • Ensure supply chain processes meet legal and trade compliance requirements and standards.

  • Lead organization comprised of procurement, shipping & receiving, and warehouse management teams.

  • Evaluate and report on supply chain KPIs (part price variance, cycle count, excess and obsolete inventory, etc.).

  • Provide regular reporting on inventory for Finance, Sales & Marketing, and key customers.

  • Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes.

  • Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth.

  • Develop talent and retention strategies within the supply planning team.

  • Train, coach, and evaluate immediate team of talent.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or another related field, MBA preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in a senior level Purchasing, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management or Operations role.

  • 5+ years of management experience leading large Supply Chain functional teams or Customer teams.

  • Advanced training or certifications in Purchasing or Materials Management preferred.

  • Knowledge of business processes related to purchasing, logistics and operational planning.

  • Demonstrated management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Deep ERP experience and a proven track record of building and streamlining business systems and processes utilizing an ERP system (SAP a plus).

  • Six Sigma/Lean experience highly preferred.

  • Advanced technical skills in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels within an organization.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining customer collaboration.

  • Experience with government contract supply chain regulations a plus.

  • Self-starter, reliable and a passion for excellence.
