Medtronic Assembler II & III in Billerica, Massachusetts

A Day in the Life In this exciting role as an Assembler in the Billerica facility, you will have responsibility for supporting the manufacture of high-quality and complex catheters to support the Cardiac Ablation Solutions Business during second shift. In this role you will be part of a team that grows the operations capacity over 8X to support our customer needs in this newly acquired product portfolio. Shift Hours: Full-time Shifts

  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday; 6:00am - 2:30pm
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday: 2:00pm-10:30pm (2:30 pm - 11:30 pm during training period)
  • 3rd Shift: Monday - Friday; 10:00pm - 6:30am (must train on 1st shift or 2nd shift; no training is available during 3rd shift)

Part-time Shifts

  • 4th Shift: Saturday - Sunday; 6am - 6pm(must train M-F on 1st shift or 2nd shift; no training is available during 4th shift)
  • 5th Shift: Saturday - Sunday, 6pm - 6am(must train on M-F 1st shift or 2nd shift; no training is available during 4th shift)

Compensation

  • Assembler II - \$22/hr, plus shift differential for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th shifts
  • Assembler III - \$24/hr, plus shift differential for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th shifts

2nd shift and 4th shift - \$1.50/hr shift differential

3rd shift and 5th shift - \$3.00/hr shift differential

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs microscope and free hand soldering assembly with fine wire.
  • Works from visual aids, method layouts, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets and written or verbal assembly instructions.
  • Sets initial layouts and uses a variety of tools to prepare product(s).
  • Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • Train others and provide mentorship as requested.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.

Work Experience

  • Assembler II: 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Assembler III: 4+ years of relevant experience

Nice to Have\</\>

  • 4+ years of microscope assembly within a medical device setting.
  • Comfortable working with very fine wire (\44 gauge).
  • Free hand soldering experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-focused work ethic.
  • Experience was fast production ramp-ups.
