Our client north of Boston is looking to add a Controls Automation Engineer to their growing team! Candidates interested in this role should come with 5 years of working experience with PLC's using ladder logic and other programming languages. Candidates should also have a Bachelor's degree in the related field of Electrical, Computer, or Controls Engineering. responsibilities:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot manufacturing automation systems.

  • Design and develop PLC/Loop Controller systems according to project requirements within specified timelines.

  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs and Loop Controllers from various manufacturers (e.g., Automation Direct, Allen-Bradley).

  • Develop and maintain HMI (Human Machine Interface) terminals for user interaction with controllers.

  • Program equipment controllers and design any additional required machine controls.

  • Design and layout electrical control panels, enclosures, and controls.

  • Develop and maintain databases.

  • Document control system designs and track modifications for future reference.

  • Participate in performance testing, commissioning, and startup of projects.

  • Collaborate with other engineers, local, and corporate IT to ensure compliance with standards and timely delivery of designs.

  • Respond to and resolve automation equipment end-user issues.

  • Provide technical, diagnostic, investigative, and repair support to Manufacturing and Service departments as needed.

  • Assist with facility electrical troubleshooting, including interactions with electricians and outside vendors.
