MITRE is seeking an experienced market/business intelligence professional to continue the growth of our market intelligence capability in support of a diverse set of internal and external sponsors. The Senior Market Intelligence Analyst role involves consolidating multiple sources of information into the most substantial findings and presenting those conclusions, often as written reports, presentations, and in-person briefings. This role requires an individual that is comfortable with gathering and synthesizing the data, as well as applying strategic thinking to the analysis of the data.

Target analyses include competitive landscaping, competitor profiling, market analysis & modeling, and any other business insights support that enable effective decision-making. The work includes engaging with internal partners and leaders to scope and prioritize tasks, reviewing large datasets to perform data-driven analyses, conducting market analysis, investigating relevant policies and regulations, determining direction based on limited concrete data, understanding the current budgetary and political environment, and performing additional research and analysis as necessary.

This position will interact with all levels of the company, including senior level managers, technical SMEs, and analysts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing primary and secondary market analysis on government and industry trends and market participants, an entrepreneurial approach to generating and creating value and impact, and an appreciation for a nonprofit/public interest environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in identifying sources of information and gathering a wide range of quantitative and qualitative data to support decisions that have implications for MITRE and its government sponsors

  • Organize, analyze, and synthesize data into consumable and action-oriented key findings and recommendations

  • Apply analysis and growing strategic thinking skills, including exploratory data analysis of the federal funding environment and federal appropriations process, assessment and analysis of policy investment and sponsor engagement.

  • Create data baselines for competitive intelligence, market intelligence, landscape analysis and monitoring

  • Translate unstructured data and nontraditional sources of information into business insights

  • Explore sponsor environments for cross-government challenges and identify potential best practices

  • Assist in data visualization to improve the presentation of complex data sets

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related experience in domains such as business intelligence, competitive intelligence and/or market research & analysis

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Research, Finance, Data Analytics, or other related field

  • Detailed understanding of U.S. government funding data sources and experience with/knowledge of the government contracting market

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated skills and experience in presenting analytical results both verbally and in writing

  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, and other business intelligence tools for analysis such as Excel, Power BI with the ability to support business analytics with data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Business Administration or another related field

  • Experience in government contractor consulting and/or in an environment monitoring federal policy and/or appropriations

  • Expertise in using specific tools to support data such as Tableau or Python

  • Knowledge of the federal R&D environment and the role and value of federally-funded research and development centers
