The Edinburg Center Lead Peer Specialist in Bedford, Massachusetts

LEAD PEER SPECIALIST

Pay commensurate w/experience - $23 to $25 per hour

This is a mobile position providing services in the surrounding communities of Bedford, MA

What You Will Do:

Responsible for mutual support services to Persons served using the CPS Code of Ethics as a guide to providing self-determined, person-centered supports that will lead to increased independence. Provides supervision to Peer Support Staff who work in Adult Mental Health Services. Assists clinical and outreach team in facilitating person-centered services, writing recovery-oriented treatment plans, and maintaining an atmosphere of hope and resiliency.

Who You Are:

Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) or Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC) with at least three years of experience working in a lived-experience role supporting adults receiving mental health and/or substance use services. Bachelor’s degree required but may be in a field other than mental health. Five years of work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required. First Aid and CPR within three months of hire required.

Must identify with significant life disruption due to a mental health diagnosis, substance use, trauma, extreme states, or other systems involvement (homelessness, foster care system, incarceration) that enables the peer support specialist to provide support to those in services in a unique and distinct way. Must be able to identify the supports, resources, and skills that may lead to increased wellness and be able to support others to identify those areas for themselves.
