POSITION SUMMARY

The Director Distribution is responsible for the efficient operation of all DCs and Logistics within the sites under their control. The role is part of a global team that supports a large portfolio that spans BioProduction. The roles will have responsibility for a subset of the entire portfolio; however, scope and remit can change with business evolution. They are responsible for providing clear vision and direction to their leadership teams, setting strategy and focus for their sites. Creating and maintaining a culture of development and employee engagement, achieving operational metrics that contribute to the company’s overall goals and success, and engaging key business partners to ensure excellent customer service. This position will be located at one of our BioProduction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs and leads all aspects of distribution related matters with an emphasis on improving overall supply chain efficiencies

  • Implement and evolve the use of PPI and continuous improvement methodologies to drive performance improvement and a culture of excellence

  • Develop transformation plans to drive proposed changes in transportation, freight optimization, warehousing & distribution, and develop implementation plan and estimated range and timing of benefits (OPEX / inventory / service delivery)

  • Assure global policy and standards are applied to all sites and performance targets and met or exceeded

  • Drive a culture of accountability and employee engagement across all locations and disciplines

  • Use analytics to improve performance and find opportunities to minimize costs while improving service

  • Drive a culture of accountability and employee engagement across all locations and disciplines; effectively manage individual and group performance to set goals and expectations

  • Identify, design, and implement sustainability driven initiatives and ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met within company guidelines

  • Ensure compliance with local safety requirements, leading an environment of zero safety incidents; assuring the organization embraces a culture of safety

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration or related field (Master level preferred)

  • Supply chain/logistics accreditation(s) preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (leadership, engineering, supply chain, project management)

  • Previous experience in leading a regional team of supply chain leaders and professionals

  • Experience with continuous improvement lean methodology including, Problem Solving, Daily Management, Standard work, Value Stream & Process Mapping, kaizen

  • Experience operating in and leading cold chain, dangerous goods, and high regulated operations

  • Cross-functional business experience across the Order to Cash cycle

  • Experience leveraging ERP, WMS, TMS functionality for improved operational performance

  • Strong analytical, financial and P&L experience essential with a demonstrated ability in driving year over year cost efficiencies

  • Ability to transform current business functions into streamlined, sustainable, and efficient processes

  • In depth knowledge of key supply chain/distribution and transportation and logistics best practices

  • Ability to quickly establish credibility across organization/engage others to ensure the most effective and efficient logistics solutions for the varied business units
