Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design Internal Innovation Events that showcase the value of engaging in Innovation Ecosystems

  • Leverage external partnerships and networks in the innovation ecosystem to design and execute internal events on the topics of Corporate Innovation and Intrapreneurs.

  • Collaborate across MITRE and with our Innovation Ecosystem Partners to define challenges and shape accelerator programs aligned to MITRE Sponsor priorities in BlueTech, HealthTech, and Social Innovation.

  • Support MITRE’s Learning & Growth teams by identifying and developing leadership and training modules for innovation and entrepreneurship.

  • Explore the application of venture studio business models aligned with MITRE’s values and organizational business constraints.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Masters or Doctoral degree in business administration, with emphasis on entrepreneurship or innovation. Students must be continuing or starting their education the semester following their internship.

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

  • Experience in entrepreneurship, corporate innovation, startup acceleration, and program management.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Must be available for approximately 12 weeks between June through August 2024 (start dates and end dates flexible based on academic calendars).

  • High level desire to help nation solve its most critical problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of work experience in startup acceleration and corporate innovation.

  • Experience facilitating collaboration between startup companies and the federal government.

  • Strong, rich network across innovation ecosystem to include VCs, startups, industry, and academia.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
