Cape Cod Toy Library Operations & Volunteer Specialist in Barnstable, Massachusetts

OVERVIEW The Operations & Volunteer Specialist will play a crucial role in advancing Cape Cod Toy Library\'s mission by working closely with the Executive Director. The Specialist will be responsible for developing community relationships for volunteer engagement to support the operations and programs of Cape Cod Toy Library. Responsibilities include overseeing all volunteer activities - recruiting, training, coordinating, managing, retaining and recognizing volunteers to support operational, marketing, and fundraising needs. Responsibility includes ensuring the preparation, staffing, and clean up for regular public open hours as well as scheduled times for special groups at the Toy Library Community Play Space and the Outdoor Play Oasis. KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Dedication to the organization mission. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Outgoing, friendly, and professional. Attentive to needs of children, teens, and adults. Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable talking with media and being recorded. Highly organized with attention to detail. Teamwork and Independence: Effective team player with the ability to work independently. Dependable and able to follow through on tasks and communicate in a timely manner. Cultural Awareness: Genuinely interested in and works well with people of various ages, cultures, and socio-economic backgrounds. Organizational and Display Skills: Strong visual and spatial awareness for the aesthetic organization of toys and books. Skilled in organizing, packaging, and maintaining attractive displays. Previous retail experience with customer service is helpful. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using required technology equipment and software (e.g., Mac computers, iPads, phones, printers, laminators, online platforms, CRM, Google Drive/Docs/Spreadsheets). Adaptability and Multi-tasking: Adaptable to a dynamic, active work environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks and situations effectively, including various noise levels with small and large groups of children and adults. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor\'s degree or above, plus 2 years of relevant experience. Must be able to work most Saturdays and occasional evenings and weekday hours. Must have reliable personal transportation. Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word/Pages, Excel/Numbers, PowerPoint/Keynote) Must have a work permit or documents that allow work in the US. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master\'s Degree in Human Resource Management, Non-profit Admin., Business Admin., or related. Proficient English, Portuguese and/or Spanish speaking skills a plus. POSITION: Year-round, part-time 15 hours per week, \$25 per hour. Schedule includes most Saturdays with occasional evenings and weekday hours. Reports to the Executive Director.
